Structure of a Provincial Grand Lodge

Provinces within the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes under The Grand Lodge of England are made up of Minor Lodges, Provincial Grand Lodge, Knights Chapter and a Roll of Honour Assembly

Before any Provincial Grand Lodge, Minor Lodge, Knights Chapter or ROH Assembly can carry out their meetings they have to get a Dispensation, this is issued in the form of a WARRANT and should be on display at every meeting

Minor Lodges are for the most part held weekly, although there are some that are held two weekly or just once a month. The Minor Lodge is made up of members of all four sections (degrees) of the order. 1st degree (Brother or Kangaroo), 2nd (Primo [CP]), 3rd degree (Knight Order of Merit [KOM]), 4th degree (Roll of Honour [ROH]) Apart from the obvious Officers of a Minor Lodge (Secretary, Treasurer and Trustees) where continuity is needed the Officers are elected monthly on the last meeting of the month

Provincial Grand Lodge (PGL) is for any Brother of the 2nd, 3rd or 4th degree, they can be an elected representative of their Minor Lodge or attend in their own right. PGL meetings are held monthly depending on the Province as to what day they are held. The chief officer of a Province is called a Provincial Grand Primo (P.G.P.). When he has completed his year in office he is then know as The Immediate Past Provincial Grand Primo (I.P.P.G.P.). After that he is know as a Past Provincial Grand Primo (P.P.G.P.). The next in line to a Provincial Grand Primo is called a Deputy Provincial Grand Primo (D.P.G.P.). PGL is the governing body of the Province, and has two sub committees, (Executive Committee and an Examining Council) the members of each are elected yearly. The Executive Committee to check and make sure all items for PGL meetings are correct. The Examining Council to examine any 1st degree Brother wishing to go higher within the Order. Members of PGL can get elected to represent their Province at Grand Lodge.

Knights Chapter is for any Brother of the 3rd or 4th degree, meetings are usually held monthly although some are held Bimonthly or Quarterly. In this Province they are held monthly. The chief officer of a Knights Chapter is called Knight President, his deputy is called a Vice President.

ROH Assembly is for 4th degree Brothers only, meetings are usually held monthly although some are held Bimonthly or Quarterly. In this Province they are held once a quarter. The chief officer of a Roll of Honour Assembly is called Roll of Honour President, his deputy is called a Vice President.
